Steam - problems with downloads

Has anyone else had issues with Steam lately regarding very slow and downloads stopping?

Last night I had a mixture of new games and game updates to install (around 13). They would stop and then resume BUT they would also stop and then start downloading another game in the cue before completing the download.

Tried changin your downlaod location server?

Yes, done that. My normal server is London, changed to Manchester and it made very little difference.

It could very well be. I hve been having really poor internet for the last month or so. I did check and was getting 43mb/s via Ookla speed test last night.
