Just ordered ST:O from steam but forgot to update my account with my new email. So ive lost the email with the activation key i guess since the game is still in an uninstallable state. Ive put a ticket in but been waiting hours now, anyone know a way of getting the email / activation resent?

Or it could be all ok and theyre just being very very very slow at processing my credit card.

steam support normally takes under 12 hours. if your unable to change your original email address then youll have to wait for them to respond.

Do you need an activation key?
Everytime I have bought from STEAM it goes straight to my account ready for downloading.

cant check the old email as the account no longer exists.

when i go to the games tab the game is greyed out and it wont let me install it, still wiating for the transaction to complete. Im assuming it sent an email with a link on it or something to my old email account that i had to select in order to be able to activate the download?

Ive changed my email address now but i was just wondering if there was an option hidden somewhere to resend the original purchase email.

I've bought a few games on Steam and never have had to rely on an email to install a game? There are some games that have a product key for online gaming but steam reminds me of this each time I run the game. I can choose to not show me the key again but I always leave it just in case.

iirc you should be able to right click the game in your games page and it will give you the optio nto view the key :)

That's nothing to do with your email address, it's just taking your bank an age to verify the transaction.

Er... i've never heard of a game appearing in your list when the transaction hasn't been completed. Hell if the transaction doesn't complete it simply comes up as 'failed' to my knowledge.

Either its not yet released, in which case your a fool, or you're doing something wrong. Because Steam has never required an activation email, it merely sends an email receipt.

whats ST ....the game you ordered ?

Star Trek: Online at a guess.

Which may explain this "Star Trek Online requires a valid credit card to play this game and additional, recurring subscription fees apply. Activation and download may take up to 48 hours after purchase. Paypal is not accepted for purchases in Pound Sterling or Euros."

So i think the OP is just an idiot for using the wrong email address :p Either way, you could probably get Steam Support to email re-issue the email if you change your address.

This happened to me when I ordered ST:O last Saturday. It took around 16 hours until I could install it. It seems to be a problem with this game specifically, check the steam forum. You just need to wait it out mate.
