Hey all,

Ive checked the steam site for allowed cd keys and Civ 5 is supported. Now I know of a deal in a "ye-old" high street store and it is very cheap compared to steams price now Im wondering if I register the CD key and download Civ via steam, whether it will give me both the PC & Mac version so I don't have to cough up the steam price ? or just the PC version ....

AFAIK games on one are also owned for the other if available on steam, regardless of which is bought.

Yeah you get both mac and pc, it runs like a lame, one eyed dog on my 09 mac book pro though :(

I boot camp it to get a decent game

As said already the game requires steam to play. I bought the game from another online retailer and so did a friend from another, both confirmed to work as above.

thans for the update and gutted about it running like a dog i have an mbp 09 :( but alas ill run it in win 7 :) either way its downloading now and thanks for your help :)

Also dont even attempt dx10/11 on bootcamp (im guessing you have the 9600gt too) for some reason it random crashes in that mode, looks just as good in dx9 given you have to run it on medium/low settings...

The port to osx just wasnt well done (a bit rushed and most mods dont translate) which is a shame as 4 worked pretty well (after a while)
