Would It be possible to add my Crysis maximum Edition to Steam so that it would update itself, but not just add the shortcuts?

Thanks

I'm slowly rebuying all my games I currently have from Steam again. Set myself a limit of £30 a month. Just yesterday I bought Bioshock and Dead Space again with the FEAR 'xpac' thrown in as well for 2 quid. Probably a waste of money but I find the convenience of Steam just too great to ignore.

i think steam is great also,If you ever changed your mobo, then you would never lose all your games, because they would be on your steam account ;):D

Sorry, I don't mean to mock, but are you paying extra to bind your games to a service that can, without any notice, remove access to said games?

Only on ''steam only'' games. Not general games like EA game, 2k games, etc...
There are some small exceptions.

The point is technically according to the EULA changing mobos means you would need to buy another license to the game. There's nothing that actually physically stops you playing the game. As my many computer upgrades attest to.

No, you lose Valve/VAC games access to VAC secured servers, Crysis/Warhead is not one of them nor are any of the EA games.

Only games such as source games, all cs(based) games, Red orchestra, etc are affected and you're only not allowed into VAC secured servers any more, you don't lose access to your games and you can still enter servers with no VAC and/or using a custom anti cheat app...
