Steam re-install question

I got a stream account and a dvd of HL2 a few months back i formatted and didnt save the steam folder. Anyway ive reinstalled steam and reinstalled HL2 when i try to activate the HL2 it says CD Key is Duplicated.

Whats the fix for this.

You were right 1st time i had logged in with the wrong account for some reason i had created 2 accounts, i must have been drunk.
