Steam refunds

Just had 'From Dust' refunded after my request. It is off my Steam list but still playable through the Steam folder. Bonus for me, but this cant be right?

They can't forcefully delete the files from your computer so there is no reason that it shouldn't work.

Can they refund games that have already been installed? I asked for my Deus Ex to be refunded before it unlocked so all my files are still preloaded but not installed.

Far as I know Steam don't do refunds, From Dust is an exception because the publisher screwed up badly with the DRM.

Fair enough. I've never asked for one, but people I've talked to say it's generally a non-starter. Maybe because yours was a pre-order it would be different.

Steam normally don't do refunds, which is annoying when you can refund games at retail stores.

Didn't get a refund for GTAIV 4 pack since it didn't work on 2 people's pc's out of the 4 people that brought it.

They refund pre orders, but From Dust was a special case due to bi's DRM muck up.

Ubisoft actually requested that Steam issue refunds to people that wanted them. I sent in lots of complaint emails to both Steam and Ubi to get mine refunded.

Even if it still works off my hard drive, I wont be playing it again anyway.

They do, do refunds. I also thought they didn't as I have read it on here a number of times, but when I purchased the wrong borderlands 4 pack a few days ago they refunded me straight away.
