Death Star or Mount Doom, it depends on the day.
I have currently added an additional Hard drive in my comp and I wanted to copy certain programmes over to my bigger HD as i only previously had a 74gb Raptor installed. I attempted to uninstall Steam and reinstall it on my new Hardrive but this resulted in failure as it states that 'this product canot not be installed to rot directory of any drive' any help on how to reinstall Steam on my bigger drive would be gratefull. Thanks.

I heard that manually moving files is a bad bad idea.

suit yourself. worked fine for me. :)

steam doesn't need installing. it just updates itself the first time you try to run it from the new location. you might have to delete the file named "clientregistry.blob" after you've moved it. that is all.

So you have been in a simular situation and it was fine. I will try it if so.

well i didn't move it because i was running out of space.... :p i just moved it because i wanted all my games on a separate physical drive to windows to hopefully improve performance a little. also it saves having to re-install the games/download updates on a clean windows install too. it just works straight away. :)
