Steam remote background

I think I already know the answer to this but I just want to make sure.

It's not possible to remote play from a PC while someone else is working on it is it?

Basically, I wanted to stream a game from my main rig to my laptop while my mum WFH on it, but that's not possible is it as you take control of the screen and mouse on the main PC. You cant stream it in the background without controlling any peripherals or monitors?

Correct. You would need exclusive access to the computer.

A virtual streaming instance would be very useful. In the not too distant future perhaps.

Most lack hardware acceleration.
