Apologies if I've missed the boat on this, amazed this went through beta without me noticing. :o

Was just browsing the games list on my community page and noticed it looked really different. Seems steam now has remote control, something I've wanted for a while. :)

Anyone actually used it yet? Does it work?

yes it works, pretty pointless for most people though.

I think it's a pretty good idea to be honest. Plenty of times I've had a mate send me a text say "fancy playing XYZ tonight?", gotten home to find I need to download 10gb or so before we can start.

Would be great to just flick my phone up, check to see if it's installed, click a button to set it going if it isn't and be all ready to go when I get in.

Also, will be great to be able to buy games from the website away from my games PC, and start them downloading right away.

Good idea but should really be a lot lower on the list of priorities for download enhancements, behind stuff like:

-Queuing downloads (including ordering)
-Ability to switch off pausing of downloads when starting a game
-Scheduling i.e. set it to automatically download between certain hours

Feature isn't much use to myself because chances are my PC will be switched off if I'm not at home.

It's not very useful if you have 2 or more computers you load your steam games onto (my desktop, laptop, and HTPC, for instance). Since only one of them can be online at once.

+1, 2, and 3. These three features ought to be top priority for any work on the steam client IMO.

Do you leave your PC on all the time then?
