Steam Summer Sale - When?

Can anyone advise when the steam summer sale usually is? I'm guessing soon-ish?
Just I know these sales can (and often do) have massive savings on good AAA games. I have my eye on a couple of games at the moment but they are all full price and could wait for the summer sale if soon?
 
It's a while since Steam sales have been anything other than generic.
The reality is that the same games go to the same price sale after sale and as a result have actually become a non event for those that have been Steam users for more than a few years.
 
There has been a change of heart as of late.

These "sales" are no longer the "going out of business" sales as EA like to call them now.

Discounts are much more restrained with only Indies offering the deeper discounts but even then, not always as deep as they used to be in the good old days. :D

The move away from the flash sales within the sales window has contributed to this.
 
Yet to see a game (that I am interested in) on a Steam sale that could not be bought cheaper elsewhere, never understood the hype for Steam sales
 
The same games appear every sale. I either have them already or I'm not interested. I get more hyped about crafting the badge :)

Only the older steam sales justifiably should have had the hype, these days I am lucky if I even find one thing worth buying!
 
the thing I find with the sales they are still cost more than other sites where I can get keys from.

so far they have had doom on sale for 13.99 (67% off) but I can still get it for 8.99 else where
 
"Back in the day" - The Steam sales were something to look forward to, they were something the Games Industry had not seen before.
