Steam Survey interesting results

Very interestign in a geeky type of way ;)

No wonder EVE is dropping Win98 support by looking at the Windows Versions table.

well they said less than 3% people use (about 1000 registered users) run win 98, ME etc.

Multi-GPU Systems (5494 of 711282 Total Users (0.77% of Total) )
NVIDIA SLI (2 GPUs) 5,395 98.20 % ##################################################################################################
ATI Crossfire (2 GPUs) 99 1.80 % ##

interesting

Sli > Crossfire by a bigger margin than i would ever expect!

SLI has been out longer than crossfire and therefore eould obviously have a large percentage, plus i dont think anyone would crossfire two lower end cards whereas in nvidia's case people do, i dont think anyone crossfires two x850's whereas people do crossfire 6600GT's instead of just buying a decent top end card for the same price, thats why most people that would have multi nvidia gpu's i doubt they are both 7900GT's, whereas most people that have crossfire would have top end cards thats why there are less because most people cant afford it

Good to see the GF4 mx and GF4 Ti cards still going strong. :)

Cracking in their day.

Nothing about that really surprises me, although I think that the main people taking the test are people who have 'higher' end systems in the first place.

Something looks a bit messed up with some of those results. Take a look at the monitor related stats. Apparantly, 16" is the most common 4:3??? I never even heard of that size displays! Also the 16:9, 15", Thats tiny!

can't believe so few people have 2gb of RAM or more. I thought everyone did

The vast majority of people are going to have 512-1024, these are a huge range of systems on Steam, and a lot of them probably don't even have HL2, so don't need the RAM.

ah good point, i always compare everywhere to OCuk!!

Why is there a difference in language between Korean (Adult) and Korean (Teen)? And it's weird that 5 people didn't know what language they speak.
There are 2 seperate entries for Undetermined for Drive Type
I would love to watch the guy play on his 11" widescreen display, that's almost like a PSP.

I'm amased at the amount of people with 250gig drives!

i originally only had 150 GIG space in my PC which cost £2000 in december but it did have two raptors, its not really size its type of drive too SCSI is unbelievably expensive, i always load first, a raptor for OS and apllications and a raptor for just games, then 2 150 GIG spinpoints in raid for storage, i only did it to try raid it aint what its cracked up to be, the reason why my pc cost so much is because i bought top end everything yet only ended up with 150GIG space

AC97 audio 4tw!

Seeing this is the most widely used soundhardware why are the drivvers for it and source games still so particulalry dodgy.

I have to use a really ancient set on my DFI board to get it woorking to my satisfaction.

Come on valve pull yer finger out :O

or maybe its just my pc tee hee !
