Steam, Synology Assistant & other apps not launching on mac-os

Hi All,
I am finding that some apps are not launching correctly on Mac-os.
For example, when I try to open the mac versions of Steam and Synology Assistant a grey box appears with the cog symbol and the "Done" button.

I have tried reinstalling multiple times but no difference. Has anyone else had this issue?

Have you got a screenshot of the dialog/error box that's shown?
And what MacOS version are you using?

I would recommend using AppCleaner (it's free) to delete apps, as it will clean a lot of the misc. files (preferences, login daemons etc) that are usually left behind when deleting the apps using the typical 'Apple' method, ie - deleting and/or drag-drop app to the bin.
