Some guy is asking for my TF2 pan and hat, asking me to trade.

A) I don't play TF2 and B) I don't know him.

He said it's legit, he just wants the items I don't use so he can craft... is this some kind of weird scam I'm not aware of?

Same thing happened to me, some guy pestering me for Bills hat, removed him in the end.

How swapping for games work then?

I have Bills hat and three other TF2 items.
 
The person in question would buy the games in the form of a giftable copy. Then they'd just trade you the giftable copies in return for the hat and then you can add the games to your steam library from your inventory.
 
How do people find out what you have?? I got a copy of planets vs zombies for my troubles of being nice to these random people on steam...
 
bills hat worth a lot maybe 20 £ + or more not entirely sure, also hat with unique effects worth even more seen hats go for 300 $
 
I have bills hat and a few other thing, and I hate TF2 :D

I bought the orange box set for TF2 as people were telling me how good it was. I played it for 1 hour and hated every minute of it, never played it again. Could be a good way to get my money back...lol
