Steam update on laptop via hsdpa sticks at 45%?

Hey

Trying to update steam on my 3 dongle on the laptop but it sticks at 45% every single time, thereby wasting my allowance and obviously not working

Any suggestions of how to fix this please guys?

tried renaming/deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file?

I did try deleting the blob file but it still does the same unfortunately

I use a USB 3g(3 dongle) connection and it dose the same thing with steam and also some other things I have tried to download.

I've been using a Three USB dongle for a while and not experienced any issues like that and I've had Steam updated during that time.

Try restarting in safe mode with networking and run the update again, worked for me a while back.

Try with a wired connection at a mates perhaps

Sounds like you might be hitting throttling of some kind, but the only way to test it is to try downloading with a different connection.

Hey,

Not throttled, its always worked for me before now but it won't this time

Tried safe mode - mobile broadband won't work on that!

Any other ideas?

Do you have a retail CD with an older version of the client on?

If so, try running that
