Steam updating

Anyone else having issues with steam this weekend? mine is constantly popping up with self updater, needs to restart steam. Release notes always the same too, its getting really annoying now.

okay just a quick update for anyone else that has problems, it was AVG antivirus after all.
however just using the temp disable option doesn't allow it either, had to fully unisntall AVG, update steam, then reinstall AVG.
Never used to be a problem, might have came about in an AVG update recently.

Avast free is good, I am using it for about 10 years now. Only issue I ever had was when it deleted hydrophobia game exe, but it was fixed in update same day.

Microsoft Security Essential seems to be the best across them all for me. Works great and doesn't effect boot-up speeds/random laggy scans.

Ditch AVG & install security essentials. No issues here.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago, the next day it was fine. I don't use AVG.

I took AVG off the GF's laptop the other day as she was experiencing unexplained problems. Installed MSE and it is performing much better, though personally I use Avast! free and Comodo free firewall.

I use Avast too, install shield has not cause any problems installing. It does prompt to install adobe update anyway.
