Hello, so just wanted to trade with steam user: [OG] WaterFallFX | 257

We saw post of wanted games in one of the official game groups, I received invitation and checked his profile! more than 500 games and seemed very honest person also working for http://www.g2play.net/store/

Quickly what happened:
He posted key's he had and we agreed that I will trade batman for shogun 2 ( however he says he has only keys of this game (other too.))

I agreed to trade him game and he will post me a key.

One I did it he removed me from friend list and probably blocked!

Now: I made SCREENSHOTS of all our chat, plus screenshot of agreement and when I made a trade.

Anything can be done now?:confused::confused:

I've seen a lot of rumours about that g2play place, most of them negative. A quick Google will show up a lot of them. Hopefully this will get sorted out and not just brushed away.

My mistake in trading like that, however when you deal with user who has 500' games, steam groups, etc. You don't expect that person is a ***.

I contacted steam support just now.

How are people stupid enough to fall for "i will give you code after you give me everything"?

If it can't be put into the Steam trade system, it's a scam and you shouldn't trust it.

I can't help but think these things could be easily avoided by using a little common sense.

Anything that isn't the 'official' way of going about trading, is probably going to be a scam, unless you know the person personally.

Lots of people getting raped lately.

It's this guy.

Because some people are honest some not, I traded same way couple days ago: guy sent me a L4D2 gift and I messaged him a key. My morality and honesty dose not allow me to hurt, lie to people even online, for some people that's no big deal.

Once I even bought a game from ebay got the game and everything Assassin's Creed : Brotherhood about a week later I had the game revoked and the message stated the gift had not been paid for. So be careful with gifted games also. I opened up a case with ebay and got a refund but it looks like the guy had used a chargeback through his bank.

I can't believe people are this gullible.

OP, next time you could try buying Steam keys from a reputable and authorised source that sells them legally.

I'm curious Mr Krugga, is the condescending tone because because you didn't read the OP properly, or is it because you actually think an on-line key seller will accept a steam gift instead of currency?

Neither. Unauthorised key sellers are scammers by nature (since they sell most of their games against the T&Cs of the service, and possibly the law), so it's only logical that you couldn't expect their employees to be honest people.

I have nothing against personal trades between friends, or trades within a closed community like ours (Member's Market), but it peeved me a little that the OP would put Steam in capital letters in the title ("STEAM user"), as if Steam is in any way responsible for his, for lack of better words, stupidity.

I understand the frustration that comes from using the flawed system, though.
