fantastic game, graphics are amazing and if you have a G25 you cant go wrong ... arcade racing at its best .. £7 !!! buy it !

I don't know what the general consensus is, but I enjoy it. The handling isn't at all realistic; in fact it's quite unique and doesn't really feel like any other game - but it's fun, and when you learn how to time corners and get a feel for how it controls, it's quite good in an arcadey sorta way. It's really polished too, and the graphics engine is really solid.

I tend to find that goes away once I run the game and quit.

One of the best racers I've ever played, just look at how its held its value in stores. A must have PC game imo.

Probably,
found a trick anyway

Stop the download by exiting out of steam.
open windows explorer and browse to the Valve/Steam folder.
Delete the Clientregistry.blob file
Run Steam, log back in.

this forces steam to find a new content server, which will almost always get you a faster connection. Sometimes you have to do this a couple times before it picks a good one.
