Steam forces sound through headphones and not speakers
Whenever I run a game it will turn off my speakers and divert all sound through headphones. Yes I know headphones are better for 90% of games, but sometimes I just want to play casual and chill.
Both devices are USB. Speakers are Kef Eggs, fwiw. Onboard soundcard.
Even if I unplug headphones, it will still flat out refuse to play any sound through the speakers once a game is loaded.
One exception is worms armageddon, for some reason it will play through speakers. It's an old game running on dx9, could this be a clue?
I've trawled through all the standard windows/steam settings and can't find anything. Speakers are set as default... tried uninstalling every other device... no luck.
tried steam forums but predictably no luck there
Cheers
