Steam wont go past 99%

Just downloaded and installed steam, went to run it.. and on its updates it sticks on 99% .. wont go any further, after 5 mins it retrys over and over again. Ive tried installing a version from disk too but it isnt having any of it, anyone have any ideas? ta

When I first got connected to the net 10+ years back, this happened all the time. Never found out what it was.

I had this bug with CSS.. in the end i think it was my DMZ setting on the router.

You could also try deleting the local copy and re downlaoding but its a bit of an arse

i dont use a router =[ tis usb modem

its gotta be something to do with my new net connection.

anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?
