Has anyone else noticed that steam now takes 20-30 secs to log in, used to take 3-4secs. same goes when I run a game. Connecting to a server is quick though and everything else is fine.

Try deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file (think its that).

I've not been experiencing slowdowns but they can usually be remedied by stopping Steam, deleting that file and restarting.
