Referring to an earlier thread, where I was looking for something 'epic' to play what do I see. Suddenly Oblivion game of the year edition pops up on Steam at a low price. Have purchased Stalker too.

Don't you just love where Steam has took PC gaming. Just browsing the games available shows how far things have come for PC gaming and the direction it's going. Sure the consoles are still are at the front of the publishers minds when it comes to the $$$, but PC gaming has moved on leaps and bounds for your avarage user. Patches and fixes are pretty much unnoticeable these days.

I can't remember the last time I had to download a patch for a game manually. I can just purchase, download and play the game without any problems, just like you would on a console. I can then leave the game for 6 months and when I launch it again it updates itself and I'm away.

It was when installing the Sims 3 for my daughter I thought I've not done this for a while. Full or custom install. Installation paths. Add to start menu and such.

I wonder how long it will be till PC games disappear from the shelves completely.

Edit.. I forgot I installed Dead Space a while back too. Damn things has me on the edge of my seat everytime I play it.
