Sorry if in wrong section. Steam seems to be going incredibly slowly, is anyone else experiencing issues?

Downloading or loading client pages like the store?

I've not noticed anything recently.

I noticed the same list night, I was trying to view a friends profile and it took about 20 seconds to load it.

In fact thinking about it for me most things took an age to view on steam last night. But only steam the rest of the net was fine.

Steam Store and Community Back End seem to be on different networks. It's common for the community stuff to run slowly.

Just posting to say that the community pages are still chugging badly. Unsure if it's a UK internet or Steam network issue.

Could be a problem on Virgin Medias end as I too was having the same issue.

There are some suggestions in that thread which worked for me.

Try Google's DNS servers

Primary: 8.8.8.8
Secondary: 8.8.4.4

Seems to have alleviated the non-responsive client and browser issue for me.

I changed to these from VM's default servers

Or if that doesn't work try this:

downloading at 9.2mb here so yeah kinda slow usually get 10.5+

I use Google's DNS on Virgin. Changing to/from Virgins DNS makes no difference.

The store works fine. Community pages and some patch servers are practically dead.

They were for me, but after changing they have been working fine since. I couldn't even view my achievements or anything before.

It is running really slowly pages. :|

Same here, running on VM 60Mb package, and yet the Steam Store page takes an eternity to load, sometimes not even loading at all.

Haven't been able to access the steam store for about a week now. Whenever it does decide to load its just a white html like page that even I could do better to make :O

Also on Virgin here.

I use OpenDNS and it works perfectly fine for me (also a Virgin Media customer).
