SteamApps data transfer

Hope this isn't in the wrong place ( Sorry if it is Mods )

I'm just about going to buy a new lappy from the main site and I'm trying to work out the best way to get my "SteamApps" folder from A>B.

I will own two laptops , both running windows 8.1.

Whats my best options please ?

On a side note , will I be able to do the same thing with my uPlay games ?

Yes , I understand the process of it all. Just trying to work out the best way to transfer that data.

wifi transfer
external hdd
maybe some sort of usb>usb cable

Whats the best/fastest way to transfer files please ?

Ok ...heres where I sound stupid lol

So plug both lappys into my router.

Then just send one to another ? A>B . No need for a home group set up or anything else ?

Then just reinstall the steam client and I'm good to go......
