Hi all,

Just trying to get my head around whether this is possible.

I've been playing steam games through my Fire TV steam app and it seems to stutter/lag on more complex scenes. Looking online everyone seems to point to the fire stick being too limited to deal with 4k streaming.

So I've got a Steamdeck, which should have more than enough grunt, so can anyone point me to how I can set this up?

I don't want to just do steamdeck graphics, rather I want it to stream from my full bore PCs to my TV.

I've got a steamdeck dock which connects to the TV, however the graphics suggest that it's running from the steamdeck, not streaming from my PC - am I missing a trick or is this not possible!?

it can be a bit fiddly, some games need admin access or to click a message before remote play and then you have to connect on once its fully started.
some of that is because i play offline a lot. other times its beacues of the uac action.
Terra invictus as an example wont / didnt play through remtoe play by default, and you had to add the exe as a custom game for it to play though, i havent checked recently for this.
i did try this also with a non steam game : "supreme commander Forged allienace forever" but the map scrolling just didnt work properly so made game lay difficult.

my only suggestion is to try and cable it togeather. try and make sure only one device is on wifi if you have to.
ive used TP-powerlines to good effect instead of drilling holes through the house and cabling it (im not good with power tools). i think on one session i got around 160gb or data transfer over the network, with a few random drop outs.

just on this bit, when you launch the game you have 2 options you can "launch" or "stream" the content. its possible your launching it on the steam deck.

one good example to show this of is if you have a game installed on the PC and not installed on the Steam deck, it should still appear on the library list but will say "stream" instead thi might be were your having an issue.
