I have changed isp from aol ( at last)to BT broadband.

Good connection speeds etc, but when i play counterstrike the ethernet light flashes and i get a ticking noise in the headphones,
Why is this? :confused can i stop it as it is driving me crazy

Which ethernet light flashes? The light on your network card, light on the router? Perfectly normal, it just indicates network activity.

I've no idea about the sound in your headphones though.

Ticking noise, assuming it isn't game sounds itself ;) is probably interference from something. I have a similar issue myself, when I play CS:S I get a groaning sound through my speakers. It infact happens with all 3D accelerated games and so I believe it to be interference from my graphics card. However it never happened with my old motherboard with the same graphics card so despite it being my graphics card causing it, I think the fault is of the motherboard.

I doubt it's interference from the network card, and the flashing status light is normal. Bearing this in mind perhaps you should ask in another hardware section as to why the ticking occurs. It may well be the same problem as mine; graphics stress.

Hope this helps, null :)
