Steaming noob advice required

Hey folks, basically I'm a complete noob to the whole gaming/streaming scene. My PC is what I would like to game on as I've recently parted ways with my consoles except my switch. Anyhow from what I see, gaming and streaming on the 1 PC looks awkward as well as it saps power from the gaming end of things. I do however have what used to be a beast laptop like 6+ years ago. G700G7C, Its a decent spec however the GPU is quite old by today's standards, its a GTX 675m I think? Now currently this laptop is in about 100 pieces as it was over heating a little so I dismantled it ago ago to replace all the hardened thermal paste as well as clear out the fans and dust filters (which were full so 99% sure thats what was causing the overheating) etc but anyhow it's never made it back together as things at home happened around the same time and I just never took the time to do so. Would this laptop be strong enough to do the streaming side of things to the likes of Facebook or YouTube etc? bare in mind I have never streamed before so its just something I was thinking on doing for some fun while I was playing a few games on my main PC.
 
Nowadays PC hardware and software has become very suitable for streaming on a single PC, so consider this first. I would recommend spending some time researching the software/browser end of streaming so you understand how it works and what it uses. For a secondary streaming PC you would need a modern/mainstream gpu if using the gpu codec for streaming, then you need a capture card to be able to pickup what is displayed on you main PC. I Would not recommend getting into this unless you are a very serious streamer who will also stream console games.

Your laptop may be better suited just as a second screen for showing stream chat/socials.

At the most basic end you will need streaming software (eg OBS) and an account with a streaming site. First step get the game recognised and being picked up by the streaming software then on the streaming site account profile copy/paste the stream key to the software to be able to broadcast gameplay.

On the PC end look at:
- 8 Core CPU /w 16 threads or above (Ryzen7/9 or intel i7/i9)
- the best GPU you can afford
- 16GB ram (32GB only if you multitask software on the same pc)
- SSD for the games
- large storage drive if you want to record/archive

You will also need to play around with resolution/bit rate settings to be suitable for your internet connection upload speeds.

Wow amazing reply, thank you for taking the time to explain everything, I really appreciate it.

My current pc setup is:
3900x with pb enabeled
64gb 3600mhz ram
4x1gb nvme drives (OS on 1 (games on 2) video editing on 4th)
2x500gb ssd
Gtx 1060 sc 6gb about another 100/300 overclocked (saving for next gen or when next gen comes out hopefully current gen falls in price)

I've a 27" and 32" monitors both for photo and video editing really but to be honest the 32" while locked to 60hz nvidia panel says gsync enabled on it. Not sure if that makes much difference.

Going off that do you think I'd be OK for some light streaming? I do intent to get next gen xbox but that's down line, currently pc gaming is all I do and before I spend silly money on this and that I want to see if its something I can do or a fad so to speak. I have several cameras at home between go pros 5,6,7, a7iii and plenty of mics too for them so I was thinking I could use those so I would be out as little money as possible also perhaps? Again I'm not looking to do this for money (however I'll not refuse if offered lol) it's purely for a bit of fun. Also have no clue which of all these platforms to go on... I was thinking mixer before that went pop.
Any recommendations?

Ps. My Internet is approx 140 down / 25/30 up
