Anyone ever used one?
I got myself a Steelseries MMO Gaming mouse.

The mouse worked fine for about 5 minutes.
Then I installed the software, and tried to change the colour. Nothing happened. So I left it alone. I decided to then change the DPI to 2000 instead of the default 800.
Again the mouse worked brilliantly. So I went back to change the colour pulsation. When I set it to high pulsation. The whole mouse itself stopped responding. All the buttons seem to work. But there is 0 tracking happening at all. IE: I can't move the mouse cursor about my screen at all!
Naturally I plugged my old mouse back in. turned off pulsation. Again no tracking.
So I restarted. To no avail.
I uninstalled the software and rebooted. No tracking. Removed the drivers, rebooted, had the drivers reinstalled. No tracking. Installed the software, it's now possible for me to change the colour/illumination. However, there is 0 movement happening with the mouse.
I've had a look on google and havcen't been able to find a solution.
To be honest I was very excited when I discovered I had the mouse, I figured it would be an awesome replacement for my logitec mx518. But so far I;ve felt nothing but crushing disappointment at not being able to use the new mouse. I have tried several different USB ports.
My system is a I5 2500k, asus P8p67 pro B3 rev. 8gb DDR 3 1600 mhz, HD 6950, with a Corsair Tx 650w PSU.
So the system should be able to handle it np. Also, tried it in a second AMD based system, and an AMD based Laptop both have the same issues.

Since it was ordered on ****, I've emailed their support to hope for a suitible response to see if it can be salvaged. If not, it'll be returned to the sender as the thing is buggered.
Very disappointed :<

Yeah see if you can get a replacement and a tip, Edit out the competitor name.

Thanks, I always forget about competitors- 2 infractions for it already :<

I've emailed their(steelseries) support. Hoping they'll get back soon.

*edit*
Just got an email back, saying it was escalated and that I should expect a reply in a further 2-3 business days.

So, got a reply today. I had to badger them a bit, as I was getting fed up of waiting. I had forgot it was the 4th July over there.
The support ticket I sent them was pretty comprehensive in what i'd tried. I even mentioned I'd used the mouse in 3 computers and 1 laptop.
I'll include the reply below. All in all, pretty annoyed, as the guy offered solutions, which are totally irrelevant. I just hope, it's not gonig to be another 5 days for the next load of useless steps.

Very sorry for the delay, we had the 4th of July holiday here and I was out of town starting Friday, otherwise I would've gotten to it on the weekend, again my apology, I know first hand how frustrating these problems are :)

This is likely an issue with settings either in your BIOS and/or power management settings. Please take the following steps and test after each step (1, 2, 3, 4) before moving on:

1. Refer to the picture in the link below and make sure that you are not plugged in to any of these places. The USB 3.0 port is OK to use but try using both a 3.0 port and 2.0 port. Since 3.0 provides more power, it may be the better alternative.

2. Make sure that your USB devices are set to be powered up at all times and that any power saving features are turned off.
Please refer to this thread for further information (steps 1 & 2 apply for all Windows OS, step 3 is ONLY for windows 7 users):

3. Note: You will need to access your BIOS (Binary Operating System) for this step. If you are unfamiliar with working in the BIOS, please take caution before taking this step and perhaps enlist the assistance of an IT-professional.

Check your BIOS settings for the following (some may not apply). Some may be under ACPI advanced settings.
a) S3 stand by type is allowed if you have standby enabled
b) USB speed is at Full Speed (12 MBPS)
c) USB devices are allowed to wake the computer from standby
d) Legacy USB support is enabled

Please advise if these steps help to resolve the issue.

if the mouse didnt work on different computers and a laptop, just tell them the mouse is broken and you need a new one? with anything hardware related, faulty units can occur and you might just be the unlucky one :/

ROFL... BIOS = Binary Operating System? Basic Input/Output System.

Anyway... sounds like a defective mouse to me rather than a USB issue, but I think it's wise to try the steps they suggest anyway, just in case. (There is nothing wrong with them asking you to try these :-) )
