Our gate got hit by a car and so im replacing it.

My Plan was a steel and Iroko / IPE wood gate with the same the Ped gate (Unifi AI Pro Camera to open the gate with number plate recondition and a Unifi Intercom)

Then I got to thinking last night maybe I can make a steel frame but infill with Aluminium "planks" to looks like wood. This way I can replace any infill that gets damaged but at the same time not have to treat the wood every year.

2 questions:

1 - does this seem like a good idea
2 - does anyone know of a supplier or brand of aluminium cladding that really looks like wood?

I spoke to the gate guy he has never done it before but is willing to try.

Budget is mid range at max £12k for gate/ped gate exc automation/cameras so I cant go too crazy.

You might have to be careful of galvanic corrosion with 2 dissimilar metals as it'll be getting wet being outside?
Easily solved with the use of PTFE grease and/or Teflon coated screws/PTFE washers. We use Tef-Gel on our RIB & Trailer, which is pretty resilient:

Galvanic Corrosion is the biggest cause of headaches for boat owners - it's one of those things that must be prevented, rather than cured.
