Steelseries Apex - Windows key not working?

Have the above keyboard and was working fine until recently and the windows key has stopped working. Googling around and it suggests pressing the Steelseries key along with the Windows key should disable/reenable it but doesn't seem to work.

Another keyboard works, so no problems with Windows itself. Also tried a good old reinstall and reinstall of drivers and software.

Aside from being a hardware fault, anyone have any ideas?

Its likely software over hardware. I believe they disable it to stop you accidently pressing it during a game, have you trawled through the software fully?
