Steering option in NFS underground 2??

Ok this sounds strange i know and im probably missing something here. But ive just installed NFS u2 on my pc. Plugged my steeringwheel up, gone into the options and i can change every option in the game but the steering for my steering wheel. I mean seriously whaat is going on here?

But i read that others use their steeringwheel so what am i missing here? I tryed just starting a race up, i cant turn but i can do all the other controls on my wheel. I can use the lil dpad on my wheel to turn though and thats not even set in the controls.

Can you adjust it in Windows control panel?

Yeah, it works fine and for other games. Its just absolutly rediculas that i see no controll saying turning. I can take screenshots if people dont beleive, there is 2 separate lists for keyboard and steerign wheel and ive tryed but can only enter keyboard comands in on the keyboard list.

There is no where down the wheel list saying turning etc. But it has all the others ud expect. This is quite frankly rediculas and i wonder if perhaps ive just got a stupid install problem going on here.

Sounds like it hasn't detected your wheel.

If it hasn't detected my steering wheel, why is it i get force feed back and can use all the other controls like acceloration on my pedals. ***, hand break etc on my wheel?

And i dont think you quite understand what i mean. There is a list of controls i can assign to my steerig wheel. Steering is not one of them. Unless you mean the game naturaly desides if you have a wheel in and will automaticaly make it work. If so well that was a fairly stupid design.

Ok, so what doesn't work? Sensitivity adjustment? The buttons on the wheel? Doesn't make any sense, it won't take steering input but still produces force feedback effects?

The aspect ratios are wrong but just to show you what i mean.

THis is the list of controls that i can set on my wheel. YOu will notice not one of them is turning. And therefroe in game i can do everything but turn. IVe been through the other tabs under options like game settings etc where i can change the force feedback but omnce again no turnig.
