Hi all,

I got a G29 today to use on GT sport, project cars and mudrunner.
First race on GTS was a disaster. I’m not sure having the shifter is the best way and just to use the paddles, however, they are hard to press when trying to steer.

Any tips?

Congrats, glad you managed to find one!

Just had a quick go on mine, that paddles move with the wheel, so your fingers are always on the paddles, what is making them hard to press for you?

For tips, just practice, practice, practice.

If you're a complete noob to sims, the only issue I can foresee is not downshifting completely before turning into the corner, as it's the lower speed corners where you really need to turn the wheel, so turning the wheel and downshifting could be an issue?

But from the looks of the games you play, you should know a thing or two about racing, so maybe it's just your grip?

Project cars was a disaster, I mess up one corner and I’m spinning all over the shop. That might be the setup though, it would probably do that with the pad.

GTS that I’d played to death with the pad I’m not getting close to the times I achieved l, but like you said, I need to practise. I’ll probably sell the shifter and just use the paddles.

Yeah, I was the same, it take a little adjusting from going to pad, so just keep churning out the laps.

The biggest difference for me was not feeling the brake under my foot, with a pad, you could feel when you were braking and close to locking up somehow, now the peddles feel empty in comparison.

I haven't quite mastered it as I do switch from pad to wheel often just because of the convenience of the pad.

One more thing, ditch Project cars and get Assetto Corsa, it's such a good game.

Base game is pretty much identical to PC, doesn't look as good graphically but still worth a shot.

If you can get it on PC, it's simply amazing with Content Manager and Sol mod, brings night time racing and weather.
