Hi OC

Got into Sim Racing last Year and have a Decent GT Logitec Steering Wheel though would like to go to the next stage.

What are the best wheels for around 200 300 Pounds or maybe cheaper.

G27 is 229 on OC though will the new Fanatec be better or any other.

Cheers

You would be better asking in the console section about the Fanatec wheels. There are a few that bought them for GT5 and FM3.

I have had a Logi G25 for a few years now, pretty awesome wheel considering. Nice feel, FFB is good, the G27 will only be better. I am looking at a Fanatec GT3 RS V2 for my next wheel, the alcantra wheel with the better FFB really appeals to me, and especially the clubsport pedals with the pressure based brake pedal (feels more life like, the G2* is position based, still works well though), although obviously you will be paying a bit more for this.

If you haven't allready, check out iRacing, they often do deals for new customer, 3 months for $12 usually, which will let you drive the MX5 which is absolutely awesome and the Street Stock if you are interested in Ovals without buying any more content.

well i cancelled my GT2 CS Edition order, and instead ordered the Thrustmaster T500 RS which i should get tomorrow.

NB the T500 isn't yet patched for PC and will be soon, I hope sooner than later ;). also i guess out your budget range.

The Fanatec is a reputed wheel, has some on the fly adjustments. too bad I couldn't actually get one, due to logistics fiasco there. that said If you do go Fanatec get the CSP pedals, but they are worth £200 alone. but tbh I wouldn't buy the Fanatec wheel with stock pedals, i'd rather go for the G27 then

The G27 is probably better bang for buck since you get pedals, wheel and shifter for about £200 (ligitech also does a trade in program where they knock off £50 for any old logitech product, even an old and cheap mouse) - also there are some mods to make the pedals much better like Nixim mod (under £10) or more radical Perfect Pedal (more like $200 ) which is supposed to be even better than CSP load cells

I can't say from fist hand experience, but after research, i would conclude that the logitech steering wheel is quite capable on PC and can easlily modded for improvements. What makes the fanatec shine is the CSP (apparently nothing compares at that price range), the on-the-fly adjustability, and the look, but it will cost more (about €400 incl shipping without shifter).

One more important thing that I think is worth mentionning - is customer service. Logitech is good, Fanatec leaves a lot to be desired, esp for that kind of money tbh (they need to improve that, why i cancelled my order - it's not just the supply issue, but communication is poor and inconsistent and I would dread having to deal w/ aftersales - they're a very small company with limited staff, 6 from what i gather http://www.corporateinformation.com/Company-Snapshot.aspx?cusip=C280ILB00)

in the end it depends how strechable your budget is. whichever you choose should be a notable upgrade from your current wheel

good luck and happy racing

PS I am no expert and don't claim to be, just my 2 cents to help you get started with some info

For that price the G27. I can't remember how much a full Fanatec setup is off the top of my head. But the wheel is better than the G27, however the default pedals are not great, better to get the Rensport ones, and a shifter. Probably take you to more than £300 tbh.

i like my g27 and would recommend it. this is the first tme iv heard of the fanatec wheel, did some research and its suppose to be better. But looking at the default pedals and h shifter...meh i would go for the g27. The g27 will keep its price in the future so if an update comes out you can sell it and get a new one.

At the moment I'm thinking the G27 price wise etc tho what is more inportant the Wheel or Pedals Shifter being Fanatec is better at one then the G27.

Cheers Everyone
