I've played ETS2 in the past and jumped on a few days ago and felt like getting into playing it again.

However I'd like to try it with a wheel/pedals as opposed to the good old keyboard/mouse.

What's a good steering wheel for this? Preferably not looking at something like £200 as I enjoy playing ETS2 on occasion but don't enjoy it enough to justify £200 :p

Second hand is your best bet. A driving force GT or similar would be a good start.

Like Hedge has said a second hand DFGT is your best bet i got one of the bay second hand and it lasted just over a year.. I am now running a T300 RS and its like night and day but then it cost me £200 where as the DFGT was £40.

I guess its just pot luck really:)

Yeah those DFGT style sets are atleast in my experience by far the best at the reasonable price range (though I've some problems with my old ferrari gt experience with the force feed back, its actually rumble on this one, not working due to the USB device not showing up with the right name :S).

EDIT: Typical think I just found out why the rumble feature wasn't working right after posting (yup only the _1 driver supports the rumble feature on this wheel :| the _2 or 2016 driver doesn't).

The DFGT range was Logitech isn't it or am I missing something?

Sorry yeah :( getting confused with the Logitech Drive Force GT and the Thrustmaster GT series :| both are very solid offerings in the reasonable price arena. Spent so much time recently scratching my head over why the rumble feature was no longer working on my Thrustmaster I'd forgotten which was which.

I've recently upgraded my wheel - from a very old (15yrs+) red Logitech Wingman Formula Force to a Logitech G29, with clutch and 6 speed shifter.

The new wheel is a significant improvement. The build quality is very good. The force feedback is strong, but the wheel is pretty quiet. It's nominally designed with a PS4 in mind, but has full PC support. It also works with PS3. There's native support in the PC versions of Project Cars, Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally. For older games you can use G27 profiles, or map the settings manually.

It has a few advantages over the G920, which is the same tech, but in Xbox One guise. Notably a few more buttons and the rev counter LEDs on the top.

The G29 seems to come up in deals quite frequently at the moment. You should be able to pick it up sub £200 without too much hassle.

Yeah I seen that the G29 was at £99.99 in March, unfortunately missed that deal..

Is the G920 and G29 mostly the same, with the exception of Playstation vs Xbox support?

I have an Xbox one (not that I use it) so may be worthwhile looking more for a G920 in future sales if they hit that price again :P

The G29 and G920 are identical internally. It's the look of them that differs and a few extras on the PS4 wheel. The G29 has the rev counter LEDs that light up across the top and a red adjuster wheel and +/- buttons for brake balance adjusting. This is not on the G920 because licensed Xbox accessories can't have more buttons than the official controller.

The pedals and (optional) 6 speed gear box adapter are identical on both.

From a purely PC perspective, get the G29. But if it's going to get used on an Xbone, then YMMV

I may not use it for Xbone but for the sake of an LED I think I'd go for the G920 just for the use of it on XB1 if I ever bother.

I have no PS4 so no issue with having no compatibility with that.

Guess I'll keep an eye out for deals on the G920.
