Hello, my brother worked on smaller a game that was announced at summer games fest last night. Its steam page is up and apparently its a great help if people add it to thier wishlist. It's called stellaris nexus and it's like a simplified 4x game meant to be played with friends in short 1 hourish sessions. Pls have a look and if it takes your fancy throw it on your wishlist

go this on wish list from your original post, sorry thought i posted something.
i missed the demo sadly.

the one thing thats going to draw me to this is the 1hr play thing. i dont have a lot of time generally so this actually helps in away,
i've played Stellaris a few times at a few hours at a go, longest being something like 10hrs were i got decimated and backed in to a corner and didnt know what i was doing when the machine extermination happened i was like "oops, thats not good, but interesting!"

so its going to be interesting how this both compares and plays out agaisnst its bigger brother.
from the sounds of it, reminds me a bit of Star Trek Birth of the Federation.

looking forward to seeing were this goes at least.

30mins overview

my first thought,

the "quit" button could be a bit more obvious, its under "options" on the main screen just took me a few mins to find, i almost Alt+F4 the game.

but so far playable on integrated graphics (Intel 620) for tutorial its jerky but playable (its not the recommended spec i know) just happens to be what i have available tonight and based on the minimum spec i thought i'd try it anyway.
Tomorrow i have a NVIDIA 1650 i'll try it though steam streaming (which is how i play most games these).

i got stuck some were in the tutorial, after the edicts / diplomacy action completed - it just sort of stop responding like i was meant to do something or the tutorial had ended but didn't tell me it had ended that i remembered.

clean and quick so far based on tutorial.

tutorial seems to be laid out well, and not taxing so helps with lowering barrier to the game and speeding up play.
voice over good and steady, match's requested actions.

ship combat could add auto resolve option later as it seems to be pretty much automated, and would help speed things along possibly.

its the sort of game i thought could work with vr controllers as well based on the bits of the tutorial i saw. i.e. click here drag there, that's doable in VR

im going to have another play tomorrow for some better thoughts, as i only spend 10mins on it as a quick hope in/hope out.

i'll add the comments on the steam forum once i have a better play though.
although i guess brother may be reading thread.
its not a negative, just my observations really at the moment.

so i spend a few hours on one game.. i clearly dont know what ime doing :D
the tuorial sot of ended the same way, juststopped and no direction. so doesnt seem a one of.
steam streaming worked well.

i'm going to spend some more time on it.

the game crashed as i was reaching the end stages as i spawned a voidspawn and tryed to move it at the same time :/ so i lost a lot of progress, auto save didnt seem to work.

the fact i spend a few hours on it is telling, not sure if by design but the mission didnt seem to want me to lose. sort of nice sort of frustating (A.i. just didnt seem to want to conquer all my planets, which meant i could do a dazzling comeback :D so i was happy with that.)
i can see the stellaris in it from wha i've played.

its not overly complex, and for what i want its probably about right for a "quick" game.
i think a skip battle and just auto resolve would be nice as an option.

the "undo acion" tool tip could have been displayed sooner i.e. in tutorial.

the ultimates may need some balancing, need to check others.

i probably should try it with others.
it doesnt seem to have to many playing it at the moment, based on steam discussion.

My brothers guess was that you might have needed to hit end turn in the tutorial, but I've not actually done the tutorial. I just jumped into a game with him and kept saying "what does this do?"

i wont have time untill saturday again to play around with it.
but i can see there is a tight focus on keeping game short based on the content i see.

i'll use the steam forums for visibility back to the dev, i just ran out of time for a better responce last night, but its also posted here to drum up some more interest :)

Been playing a bit on the steamdeck. It works great, only thing I has to do was set the control scheme to mouse.

I've been enjoying the game so far, though have yet to get my head around what makes a good strategy. I do know that I like carriers

The game is now live
