Right my o2 18 month contract ends April 19th so as I am in my last month I think I can phone up and cancel?

I don't really wanna cancel what I wanna do is a get a new phone/contract but the best possible deal.

What steps would you propose I take, I currently have a £25 a month contract which i've gone over say 6 times (from as little as £3-20 a month) and am after a new phone (preferably the w960i as I like the walkman phones and its their top of the range one).

What number do I call as searching for 'cancel' on the o2 site (surprisingly) doesn't bring anything up, also do I state I wish to cancel and let them try and pass me on, or do I state I want to cancel unless they can provide me a better offer?

Cheers.

Check out other places and the deals they are doing when your ready to renew, then use that as leverage when your on the phone.

Ask for your code to move the number, when they ask why say I saw such a deal at this place, they are offering... and see what they come back with.

In terms of leaving, ask to speak to their "retention" department. They can have more leaveage in making the best possible deal. If they dont satisfy your needs then say you will write a letter confirming your cancellation of your contract.

Put the letter together and then once they recieve it then will contact you immediately to put your perfect contract together.

Hope this helps.

Just wanted to second both the above points.

Saying you have better offers from other networks helps a lot. Also as mentioned above, the first people you speak to will be Customer Services and they don't have as much power to off you a deal as the Customer Retention department. If you insist on leaving you should get put through to them and get what you want.

Never tried the letter thing but I imagine it could have more of an impact then ringing someone in a call centre.
