Right, forgive what might be a stupid post, but I need clarification.

My phone has a 3.5mm stereo jack.

I have some dj software on the phone.

This software can split the 2 track being mixed in to the left and right channel, so the track being played (crossfader all the way to the left) come out the left channel, and the track being monitored plays out the right.

I have a 3.5mm stereo splitter, pushing the right channel through a single 3.5mm jack, and the left channel through another.

This means I can have the active track (left channel) playing, whilst monitoring with my headphones plugged in to the right channel 3.5mm jack.

The problem, unsurprisingly, is that whilst the split is working, the individual channels are only playing their respective channel through that output, so the active track being played out the left channel jack is only coming out the left speaker.

I thought plugging a mono to stereo adaptor in to each jack would fix this, taking the single channel and merging it in to left/right mono, but looking at the diagrams, I think this would only work for the left channel, as the mono jack would not pick up the right channel from a stereo socket (it would touch the ground section of the jack.

I can't seem to find any adaptors that are stereo male to mono female 3.5mm, which I think would work.

Help!
