" Steve Irwin: A Tribute To The Crocodile Hunter " ( Tonight on ITV @ 6.00pm. )

Wow , ITV have really pushed the boat out on this , 25 minutes !

Minus a commercial break, credits etc. down to 20 minutes.

" This program looks back on Steve's career ands pays tribute to his genuine commitment to conservation.."

A 20 minute " filler " , in between " Call me a Cabbie " ( What ? ) and the Regional news.

should have named it " Steve Irwin: An Insult to the Crocodile Hunter "

Needless to say, I won't be adding to their viewing figures.

:(

It's better than nothing, and they haven't exactly had bags of time to put together a substantial program. Some people wouldn't even get 25minutes aswell.

A Tribute is a Tribute no matter how long it is, it could be an hour long & be really crap or 20 mins and be a really good watch.

I know where your comming from though.

My point being they could have taken the time " to put together a substantial program " .

Agreed but 20 minutes is better than nothing, afaik none of the other terrestrial channels are even doing a tribute. Although maybe they are and just aren't showing it yet though I doubt it. Steve was a legend and an hour long tribute would easily get high viewing figures so not sure why it isn't longer. Although maybe I'm biased and over judging the audience. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

Of course this won't be the last tribute to him. It's on at 6 PM on a Sunday too, when a lot of families will be sat around their telly together. Complaining about it and calling it an "insult" is a little ignorant, at least it's there.

Dont get me wrong its upsetting the guy has died, but i dont understand the massive fuss its caused?

Everyone seems to be amazingly upset even though they have only probably seen him in a few things, no-one was this sympathetic when he was doing a stunt with a crocadile with his newly born child in his hand.

As i said - yes its unfortunate he died especially in the manner that what he did, but i simply dont understand where these masses of fans have come from all of a sudden.

That was the tabloids and people who didn't no much or anything about him. He's got a huge fanbase, especially in australia.

Crocodile Hunter or Steve Irwin has been on our TV's for as long as I can remember. He made his first Crocodile Hunter around 96 and it was shown shortly after in America and the UK and he became big immediately. I can still remember back in 97 talking about him on stage when I did a heavy rock version of Crocodile Rock. Since then I reckon I've watched him once a week (lots of repeats) and so have millions of others.
This guy gave me immense pleasure and put me on a high every time I watched him. I wish I could have a love of life like he did. I just hope there is an archive of unreleased video that will keep us amused for a few years to come.

Children Children stop Squabling.

Down here we only ever had a max 20 minute Tributes. we had a few on different channels on programs like 60 minutes.

We had one full tribute that lasted for about 30 mins i think with Koshi and mel Hosting it.

We might get to se his Australia Zoo Tribute/Funeral on TV i think and rumours have it that his daughter bindi is going to speak at it.

Remember is not how long its how the Quality if it is :)

Only 20mins? Who else in the world gets a tribute? There are people that have done great things and not got any tributes on tv. I don't see what there is to complain about really.
