Stevenage player punched after win over Newcastle

Ahahah, must be a Ballet Dancer or something, who else would do a little jump and pirouette or whatever it's called throwing a punch? :D

I will never understand how people can get so worked up over a game, especially when you are just a fan and not actually playing. Like if you let the winning goal in I could see while you'd feel crap but I dont get how fans can get aggressive like that.

I dont really care about football so maybe I am missing the passion and the intensity but it just seems crazy to me that someone could act like that.

They think it was actually a Stevenage fan who's done it don't they?

Go to match, your team's in League 2, you beat a premiership team, you run onto the pitch, and punch one of your own players in the face?

Unless it was a Newcastle fan in a Stevenage scarf to try and throw people off his scent...

The rumours are it was a Stevenage fan who asked for the players shirt then smacked him when he wouldn't give him it.

Moron. Fairly easily identifiable & should be banned for life.

Scott Laird? Ha.. From Bridgwater like myself and we both played for Plymouth Argyle in our younger teens!

Pointless really from the fan.

Apparently the fan asked him for his shirt and he wouldn't give it to him so he punched him. That's what's being said on Stevenage forums, quite a well known person as well.

Fairly stupid reason to be honest, as if they player who actually beat the Premiership club wouldn't want something to remember the game as opposed to some faceless coward (judging by him legging it after sucker-punching the player from behind another bloke) in the crowd?

Heard on radio they had identified him on the Stevenage fans forum. Apparently he's one of the local muppets.

Now I'll just wait for all the press and interwebz morons who instantly proclaimed it was a Toon fan and Newcastle should be fined and they are a disgrace blah blah to apologise....................

Yeah I get the feeling I will be waiting a while. People are quick to slander people but slow to retract it.
