Looking for something to permanently adhere those smooth mounting disc/plates you have for sat navs etc, to the top of my dashboard, so I don't have to mount it on the windscreen.

Has anyone used this stuff to stick stuff 'properly' to the soft spongy dashboards we have nowadays? The peel off one that came with the plate was rubbish - didn't stick at all - but tbh, I've yet to find anything that sticks solidly to these spongy-type dashboards!

Thx for any tips/advice

I bought a car that someone had araldited (or something) one into place a couple of years ago...found it handy as almost everyone has a mobile or SatNav nowadays...but nowhere to stick the holder other than the windscreen - I prefer them on top of the dash.

I'd do the same and just leave it for the next owner (it's black on a black dash so not an eyesore at all)

One came stuck on the dash with the car when I bought it, originally planned to take it off but started using it and loved it, best thing is it doesn't leave horrible circles on the glass.

This is exactly why I prefer it to be on the dash too ;)

I assumed they all came with adhesive already on the back?

It did...but as I say, it was totally useless for soft, textured dash on my Mondeo...it made a token gesture of sticking, but it needs to be a smooth surface to adhere properly with the one's that come the units, that's why I'm looking for some heavy-duty adhesive pads or tape such as the one in the link above.

The OSOMount looks the mutts.....but....surely, almost every dash has a slight curve in the middle/top area where it will be needed??

I had one of those weighted mats once....but everything went flying off it when you braked or went around a corner a bit too sharply!!
