sticky back frosting ??

I put some on a window in our old house, was only cheap stuff and it was fine for the 7 years we were there. Just follow the instructions on applying it.

I have some installed for security reasons
using selloptape on there

does the job but sometimes it needs re-applying once in a while

I have some from Ebay I used on our glass shower screen. It wasn't sticky back though, it was the stuff you put on with water and then smooth the bubbles out. It works a treat and two years later and it's still on the screen.

Think mine was homebase on side door and you can't tell its not coloured glass, 5 years old no sign of peeling or anythng

One of my businesses did large commercial window film installs for decades, no issues with it not staying stuck, I can’t imagine how that would happen unless you ignored all common sense and install instructions. But a decent branded product with a decent lifespan, it’ll likely last you way longer than stated, I have 3-5 year films up that are still going strong after 2-3x that, the only time it’s a problem is when glass is replaced and the new film is slightly different shade wise to its neighbouring windows, but that’s more of an issue on coloured films.

I used evowrap frosted stuff from Amazon 2 years ago and it was still going strong when we replaced our doors a couple of weeks ago.

It seems to vary a great deal in price.

So does pretty much everything in life, if you want £1/mtr stuff from a Chinese seller that arrives creased and you have no idea how it will perform, last or was manufactured or using what and any warranty is effectively useless, then have at it. Retail on known brands starts at about £3/mtr in 24” and about £8/m in 48”, unless you need hundreds of meters the pricing difference is largely insignificant other than in % terms.

I saw the thread title and thought

"Sticky back Frostng and pair of Val's old knickers" - Only old Blue Peter watches will understand.

As Avalon says you gets what you pay for - Mate over the road does car tinting and some people bring their own tint and it's rubbish. He wont fit it.

There I was thinking it was for a cake and an awesome idea

I've only ever seen car tinting close up and some of it looks nasty with odd rainbow streaks which i assume is from the solution they spray on.
