Hello All,
I thought there would be a sticky for this but...
Having just graced myself with a Q3 512... So now I am looking for the optoins for things like, headband/extended battery/comfort seal/ear buds/controller addons&upgrades and not forgetting software...... along the lines of video player/link to Win11/streaming /games/useful apps/etc

I have been reading some threads but the info is somewhat disjointed to a noob.... :/

Looking forward to your recommendations...

there is good info in the links Tykey links to.
your best bet at the moment is narrow down what you want to do right now. you can spend a fortune if you really want, including full racing rigs, flight rigs, wheels/flight sticks ect
it really depends what you are doing, what your budget it ect.

your first item likely will be a replacement head strap, most people recomend a halo stap of some sort, but you wont be able to easily lay down with this type of strap.

As LostCorpse said above. Try out the headset for a while before rushing out and buying accessories and add ons. Find out what you like and dislike about the headset, then work from there. For example, a battery strap might be a complete waste of time for you as you might only play VR for an hour at a time. Or you might find you are an extremely heavy user who wil spend hours and hours in VR, so you might need a headstrap with swappable batteries.

The reason a lot of info is disjointed, because VR is extremely subjective. What might be a perfect setup for one person would drive another person insane, a headstrap that suits one person might not work at all for somebody else.

subjective and its often chaning as well with new products and software.
I completely agree. Which is why I thought there would be an "evolving" sticky with peoples real world feedback....
Im happy enough with the headset so far. Have got an Ugreen link cable, which I will try out this eventide.
The usual starting apps.... Is Virtual Desktop worth the twenty quid they want for it?

Yes absolutely.

100% it is

it can be used for more than games, just watching streamed content from a pc is usfull.
i find it smooth and generally just works for me unless meta does something to break it.
some times i have to start or reststart streamers if headset doesnt see it but honestly i find it better than the metalink and steamlink options

the only issue i have at moment is no linux support
