So I dusted off my PS3 controller last night and decided to have a go on the console for once, Literally used it for a month and went back to PC gaming.

Anyway all was well until a few hours in I decided to have a glass of coke, Having cats and glasses around are not a combination that will turn out well!

I went to make food and as I just stepped in the kitchen I hear a big crash uh ho!
the cat has gone and spilled coke on the controller, I did what mopping up I could and left it to dry off in the airing cupboard thankfully it still works but now I have the issue of very sticky keys, I've got what I can off the face of the controller and around the sides of the buttons :( but some buttons still stick.

I have some 99% pure ISO alcohol would it be safe to get a cloth nice and wet with it and go to town on the controller? (If I recall ISO above 90% range is non-conductive?)

I did that with my 360 controller, take it apart give it a good clean off and it will be fine.

I onced tried to put together my friends PS3 controller. It never got to the stage of working again because it was so infuriating!

i came in expecting a sperm related tale.. completely disappointed 1/10

Never let coke dry on electronic equipment, it's even worse than water I think.

Sticking things in an airing cupboard is a bad idea, the only way is to strip and clean. You can use WD40 on a PCB, even when live. (I wouldn't recommend it but I've seen it done, the only hazard was when a dry joint arced and set the WD40 alight :p)

Do not use WD40. It can eat away at the plastic.

Strip it down, Clean it under a tap. (water is harmless as long as it allowed to dry)
