Stiff gear change

Lately ive been finding it more difficult to get into first gear moving off, very stiff and needs a bit of force to go in. But when i pump the clutch a few times it goes in better but not perfect.

Any help or advice would be great,

Change the gearbox oil.

could be the syncromesh worn,is it a hydrolic clutch?,

im not sure tbh, its a 2001 Citroen Xsara

Is it just hard to get into 1st when starting off and for the first few junctions after that, but smooths out afterwards?

If so, then I'd say cold weather as well.

Had this problem on the 106. Changed gearbox oil and fitted a new clutch cable. One of the two fixed the problem!

thats exactly how my fiesta 03 is.... i just get it rolling in 2nd gear before getting it into 1st
