So, after the 21 days or we won't take it off the market nonsense of my other thread, the sale has been progressing at the usual glacial pace.
But, a break through, the solicitors who have been bloody impossible to contact and get any information out of, finally got in touch. A week today we go in and sign "some paperwork" with the goal to exchange and complete a week on Friday.
Great! Progress and a new house (first house) looms. One of the things we want to do is have a (second) viewing this weekend and measure up so we can order blinds and curtains etc. So the estate agent is all, yep that's fine, about 11am okay? Great, thanks we said.
Phone rings 10 minutes later. The vendor won't let you view until you've been to the solicitors a week on Monday. Righhhhhhhtttttt. (That's two days later). The agent agrees this is ver odd behaviour.
How bloody awkward of them. It's not like they need to do anything that house is empty. So it's not like they have to cancel plans and tidy up, and the estate agent is doing the viewings anyway. I'll now have to take a day off work of the following Wednesday to measure up.
The house is in good condition and is only 10 years old, but what concerns me is that we still haven't received the list of fixtures and fittings that are remaining. We're wondering if they are planning to strip it out this weekend... Or they are just being awkward...
I'm trying not to get to bothered by their behaviour as we have other things on our mind at the moment.
Thoughts of those more experienced in the process appreciated...
