hi all im still getting problems with me belkin g mimo plus router its doing me head in me problem is this

i have the router set up with wpk-psk and type is tkip
so its all secured all my pcs, lappys can connect so can my psp but for the life of me my bloody hp rx3715 pda and me m700 orange phone dont want to know they both see its wpa-psk and tkip i put in the code then both dont want to connect?.

please help its realy anoying why it wont work.

thanks all

Some devices won't support WPA-PSK. Try dropping the encryption type down to WEP-128 and see if you have any joy.

thanks for your reply.wpa-psk/tkip does come up as an optoin on both pda`s allso I'm sure I have dissabled security on me router and still dident work.

this will confuse u all tho
me dad has same isp (virgin) and same router now me phone connects to that pefectly and that wpa-psk/tkip I know that cus I set his up to.

only thing it can be is different firmware on the routers?.

Router firmware should be irrelevant as Wifi is an open standard. It'll either comply or no

When you say it wont connect you mean it specifically says it won't authenticate (incorrect passphrase) or it just won't connect to the internet?

Also do you have a unique SSID, i've had it before where there are 2 or 3 routers I can see with SSID "linksys" and WPA encryption. It can be wasy with popular router models to accidentally be conecting to the wrong network.

When you say it comes up as an option, do you mean it's visible next to your network name when you search for it? If so, this could just be that the PDA is advising you of the encryption type for that specific network (Ala WZC in Windows XP)

I'm not familiar with the individual devices that you're having problems with, so I genuinely don't know whether you have to manually select the encryption type when connecting!

no I'm not even connecting to me router it just keeps trying then stops.ssid is std belkin one I'm lost very weird problem.

just funny why its both me pda`s but psp, lappy and pc is fine.

I would be realy grearfull if u lot could help fix it.its so annoying to havevto use me psp to just check the net instead of whipping out me spv m700.

they should both be fine with WPA as it's not exactly a new thing. It does sound like there's something you're not doing on either of them or doing wrong. Best bet is to check the manual for them and see what it says regarding connecting them to wireless. Can't really help further until you've read the manuals

its not that I've done it thousands of times on both.I have managed to get me both connected to me dads router and that the same router as mine and same security settings as I set mine and me dads up.

just to clarify.
I enable wifi on any of me pda`s and bang they find my router cck connect then enter me key it mucks about for abit then comes up with a red cross over my router ssid in the list as tho my router has been turned of tho it aint.

only way to get any of me two pda`s to see it as active again is to restart me device.

but still does the same thing again won't connect to the router.

but both do on me dads I have no problems and its the same.I can allso connect me pda`s to other routers eg me mates, dads, work etc.

I'd be reluctant to suggest changing anything router side with regards to the wireless channel, as it appears to be communicating fine with other equipment ...

What's the exact router model number?

yep your right it aint channel I tried that even set it to the same as me dads.I'm not at home but i m sure its this one http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=203415

and yeah don't realy want to flash it as pc,lappy, psp and xbox tho that's wired the xbox all work perfect.

I'm lost its the same as me dads I'm sure its versoin then his has a sticker on the botton says ver 3000uk I think if I remember mine says versoin 5000uk but mines newer so should be better.

thanks again for the reply just realy want it sorted

haven't set some sort of MAC filtering have you?

i spent about 10 mins swearing until i remembered i'd set that up on my wrt54gl when my brother wanted to connect his laptop :)

The router's IP address range hasn't been changed has it? Maybe limited to how many IPs it's passing out?

Only other option would be to try a hard reset back to default of the router, to ensure that no little changes have been made that could be causing it.
