Current set up is:

Q6600 @3.0
4gb DDR2
750w Lepa PSU (80+)
HD5770

I've been going around in circles over the choice of GPU now though - starting with 6870, then 460GTX but now I'm thinking either 560ti or 2nd Hand 480 (ref cooler).

I'm thinking the 480 is the better card but one generation older?

Which will provide me the better long term buy - cost pretty much equal. Want this to last at least a couple of years :D

I could wait for the next gen cards but wonder then if I'd need to lift the budget a tad ;)
I' would imagine there should be an AMD card that will be around £200-£240 range. The next gen 28nm card is definitely worth waiting for, as going from 40nm to 28nm is a big thing, and the new cards should most definitely give much better performance to watts ratio.

Thanks - maybe I'll stick where I am for now and save the cash.

Patience not one of my strong points though :D

Just bought Metro 2033 (I'm new to PC gaming) - from what I hear, if that runs ok then maybe I can wait :)

So I've heard :D

I guess if I find the quality/frame rate acceptable on that then I should be able to 'put up' with my 5770 til the next gen :D

Only tried it for 10 mins or so, but after coming from console gaming, I can safely say, looks wise, its more than acceptable :p
