yes in my village its at 512k atm, was ment to be upgraded to 1 meg soon i think.
Only problem is i cant get any atm.

hehehe i'm on 512 atm thanks to Eclipse capping me because i asked for my MAC code...lol. i'm connected to the exchange @2.5mb, i wouldnt mind but i'm not exactly a power user...lol only online gaming and surfing.

What's your stats then? Did Eclipse refuse to regrade you to 1Mb? If so what reason did they give?

sorry i should've put some more info up.

I'm on ADSL MAX8mb, regraded from 1mb about 4 months ago. Had nothing but bother with it since, eclipse customer service sucked said it was my router, even phoned me up asking if i would change it. Guess what reply they got ;) I had a stable 2mb line for about 1month then they decided to drop me to 862kbs, a quick phone call and it was back upto 2mb, stable again. Then i decided to change isp, been with eclipse 42months now, as soon as my bill was due my line speed was dropped to 572kbs. I cant wait for my new isp to go live in our area :p

I use a Linksys Wag354gs router Adsl 2+ 25mb jobbie :D

Much as Eclipse's customer service might not be great, trying a different modem/filters/connecting to the master socket is part of the basic troubleshooting process. For all you (and they) know, it might very well be your router at fault.
But this has nothing to do with the topic.

somehow i very much doubt it ;) i have 5 microfilters all brand new tried and tested, 2 wireless routers, tried and tested. I connect to the exchange on both routers @ 2.5mb, yet Eclipse admin page has my speed SET @ 572kbs

They are playing funny buggers because i'm leaving...pure & simple

Not necessarily - it is BT who are responsible for setting your BRAS profile, not your ISP :)

When I was on MAX I was syncing at 2400+ but my download was capped at 256kbps for a time.

And you told them that, and they still asked you to "change your router"?

The limit they're showing is most likely at BTw's end, but you're convinced Eclipse have to be messing around. Ho hum.

i really do appreciate what you guys are saying, and i know BT set the line values, but they've done it before and a phone call sorted it out, and i believe they're doing it now as i'm leaving in a matter of days :D

If i was you id make sure they aint bunged you on LLU like my mate, you can't use a MAC with that so have to cancel the whole thing and start from scratch with someone else, my mates going absolutely ape. :D

Apparently they're now giving LLU MACs to some (or so I've heard). Not all ISPs will accept them though (by any stretch of the imagination!).

Thats pretty much the same as me. Im stuck at 512 but everyone who lives around me can get 2mb? I dont know why my house is different to them.

My line stats are pretty bad

Im at work so these be not be exact:

Up down
63db 63db

Noise

13db 11db

Anyone know if this would be able to go faster than 512?

I wouldn't bother. If it gets stable with a 6db tatrget SNR you would get a slight increase in speed. But is is probably going to end up being set set at 9 or 12 with such a high attenuation, not any beter than you have n

even bad lines usually get the full upload so that should be good.
