So I got invited round to a friends house for a New Years eve party. First time I'll be able to go in several years, as I've usually had to work New Years day and I hate working hung over.

Been looking for stuff to take with me and I came across these in the back of one of my cupboards. Think someone gave me them for Christmas a few years ago and they never got opened. Will they still be ok to drink after all this time?

Shouldn't be a problem as it is distilled alcohol. If not been left in sunlight or near heat should taste about the same too. Saying that, I've had both of those and they were truly disgusting :D

They'll be fine.

Most base spirits last indefinitely whilst they remain sealed, liqueurs and similar have a good couple of years on them and everything else (cream liqueurs, mixers, etc) have a shelf-life of around a year to 18-months, although Baileys is around 30-months if memory serves me well.

Providing the alcohol content is around 20% or more and there's no obvious discolouration, crystallisation or thickening of the liquid inside, you're pretty much good to go.

And to be fair, you probably wouldn't even notice if either of those were off - it's hardly likely to ruin the flavour!

Yup, as the others have said completely fine although they are like drinking mouth wash.

Lets say the have an acquired taste.

Oh, and do your host a favour and take something else along with those two that's actually nice to drink, won't you?

Nothing worse than a guest who turns up with a couple of bottles of trash and proceeds to drink themselves into a stupor on the decent stuff that's been graciously provided.

I'm not planning on taking both of those. Probably just one :p

And I AM taking other stuff. I was thinking a bottle of amaretto so I have something to drink, a nice bottle of wine cause theres a few people going who I know like to drink wine and some food of some sort. Something to nibble on, like one of those little party platters you get from supermarkets. I dunno.

Oh dear lord. I just opened the sourz to test it. I dunno what its meant to taste like when its brand new....but gawd thats nasty! Definetely not taking that one. Think I'll pour it down the sink :s

It's supposed to taste a bit like citric acid, mickey finns/ sourz is disgusting man, take them anyway and people will drink them. Then take whatever you're drinking?

They won't go off, I've got a bottle of baileys I've had opened for 4 years and it's still absolutely fine. I only know one person who drinks it and they visit about once a year so it never gets drunk.
