Still Wakes The Deep (June 18th, UE5)

I think any longer might be a bit of a drag, reason why Hellblade 2 felt well paced overall.

The review embargo lifts on the 17th btw, I have review code now so will be checking it out this eve! Obviously can't share any media until the 17th. This was an unexpected surprise btw :o

Yeah seems to be a Game Pass/Microsoft issue. There is no XeSS/DLSS/FSR because the dev says they would need to code a specialised version for Game Pass to implement them or something along those lines. Epic store and Steam has everything though.

It's not the first time that we have seen Game Pass versions of a game with technical limitations either sadly.

On the upside, you could use the UE internal upscaling at 65-85% scaling if you needed to.

It seems to have been implemented decently in this so if TSR is working ok for the performance on your system then you won't really be missing out on much else it seems. There's no foliage in the game etc to see any temporal motion blurring and stuff that you'd normally get with internal/FSR/XeSS which is clean with DLSS, for example.

Interesting, I think they forgot something, I checked the directory after the patch and there's no dlssd.dll file indicating that Ray Reconstruction would not work even though the option to toggle is in the menu.

I then tested it:

It does nothing..... Which tracks since there's no RR dll file lol.

Verified also by the fact that the RT denoising garbling still exists which RR would have cleaned up and the fps remains exactly the same too.

Someone has messed up there.
