I was wondering if this has any effect on the cpu temp at all? I didn't wnat to force the bracket down incase it breaks :o

Basically I have attached both sides on the clips to the socket lips and the heatsink is secure, the black bracket is supposed to be levered over to secure the heatsink but mine feels too tight? does this look right to anyone?

Cheers!

Its supposed to be down as the lever hooks under the plastic tab on the socket, dont worry it does take a bit of force to push it down and clip under the tab, feeling tight is normal. :)

Mind you if its on securely anyway, and the temps are fine, then it will probably be fine like that.

Even though it's on tight at the moment does it matter too much that the black bracket isnt levered over? would it affect temps?

CPU monitor says 52 degrees :o

Now 50....

weird! it fluctuates between 45 and 55 or even 60 in a matter of seciods!

Had exactly the same problem when i first used a stock cooler for my venice. Its simply a matter of making sure the lever is in the right position when you clip the hsf on.

It will sit on tightly though, didnt make any difference to my temps at all.

I would not recommend forcing it, it will clip quite easily when its positioned correctly. I know i got it wrong my first time... ;)

Temps are not too high for a stock cooler tbh, thats why i changed mine, reseated it soo many times i got fed up and now happily using an Freezer Pro.

I've ordered a Arctic cooling heatpipie edition cooler for £25 now, none of this stock HSF nonsense :p
